Let’s be honest for a minute– moms are often times the superheroes of family life. From the moment we bring our babies into the world, we’re finding ways to do #allthethings. Moms run behind the kids and take pictures of the little everyday happenings that we want to remember forever. And thank goodness we live in an age where technology allows us to do just that! But as a lifestyle and family photographer, I’ve got to express the importance of investing in family portraits. It’s an investment in your future!
First, let me tell you, I can relate.
We’re so busy doing the day to day activities that we sometimes forget to hand our phones (or cameras) over to someone else to get more than just a blurry selfie. And it’s great when the hubby snaps a quick shot with me and my babies, but to be honest, pictures like this one don’t represent how I feel as a mother, a wife, and a woman.
It’s great to have quick photos of little everyday moments. But what if you could also have beautiful, timeless portraits of you and your family that you can look back on year after year? Photos that make you feel like the beautiful, strong woman you are; a collection of images that showcase the love you share and tell your unique story.
You can absolutely have beautiful portraits of yourself and your littles, mama!
I encourage you to make the leap of faith, schedule your motherhood session, and allow yourself some grace. Wear that gorgeous gown, treat yourself to a mani-pedi at the spa, wear your favorite lipstick. Do whatever brings you joy! And then step in front of the camera with those sweet babies of yours and document your journey with authenticity. Trust me, you won’t regret it.
Garrett and I agreed that we would print and display our absolute favorite family photos in our home, but that we would also have a family yearbook, filled with our memories. Sophia and Jacob love looking through our albums and reminiscing over the little moments we documented throughout the years. It’s also a fun way to remind them of just how much we love them (and always have)!
Maybe you’re the mom who loves to hang portraits on the wall. Or perhaps have family albums on display (that’s me)! Whichever you choose, know that you and your family will enjoy reliving those fun memories together for generations.
Feeling like taking the next step and investing in family portraits of your own?
